friday night boy
tonight, i went out with two of my good friends to two bars. the first one sucked, a little too weird... the second one, mike lanno works at. that was just right!! but toward the end of the night, some guy bought my friend,(who i used to date) , (and who has a boyfriend currently) a drink. i saw him walk over to us..., but, i had to tell him to take a walk... it was the first time for me. i have never had to, not defend, but, watch over and make sure my friends are alright. a little odd. but whatever. i had a good night. and i hope you did too.
so, i came home and i started playing/re-learning some of the demos we've done for the second record. i cant wait to get back into the studio. im losing my mind at home! i don't know what to do with myself. iv written some stuff for myself, but, still...what am i gunna do with it? so i cant wait to get back to a "normal schedual". soon enough i guess
Bryan just posted a new entry in his MySpace. Check this out below.
9-5
i've always joked with my friends that i have a 9-5 job. but, it's more like 9pm-5am. since we've been off our, i seem to be waking up later and later, and going to bed later and later.(well, earlier and earlier i guess, in the AM)
not to say im a movie buff, but i love watching any type of movie, whether it be on tv, a borrowed dvd/blu ray/ or if it just came out in theatres... right now, "Life is Beautiful" is on tv. if you havnt seen it, you should go and rent it sometime soon. its a good date movie. the woman who plays one of the main roles reminds me of one of my friends. (princess) weird. a little off subject, but hey, who cares?

Free BLG show in Vermont for Mountain Dew Voltage
Boys Like Girls is pleased to participate in the Mountain Dew Voltage Launch Event in Mount Snow, Vermont on January 10th. Boys Like Girls will play a free concert and will take part in the announcement ceremony for the 'Power in Numbers: Win Group Grants to Ignite Change' Campaign. The campaign is a partnership between Mountain Dew Voltage and DoSomething.org to inspire creative collaboration among groups of teens and young adults for positive change in their communities. Ten groups of teens/young adults will win a $10,000 grant to bring their idea for positive change in their community to life.
The Mountain Dew Voltage brand was created by Dew drinkers across America and so was the launch event in Mount Snow, Vermont. The event will feature a giant 60' Voltage Positive Energy Sphere, a torch light ski parade and a laser light show on the ski slope … and the free concert by Boys Like Girls. And of course there will be plenty of free Mountain Dew Voltage!
Come join in the fun if you can make it or check it out via webcast. Check out DoSomething.org and/or DewmocracyVoltage.com for details and look for Mountain Dew Voltage at a store near you!

what would dooey do?
so long to all of the mistakes and wrongdoings we've done in '08. its a new year, a fresh start.
last night i had a new years eve party at my house in Quincy, MA. wow, what a shit show. martin posted two pictures from last night of most of the guys, on martinsays. my floors are a pretty grimey from last night. between drinks spilled, and the snow/salt/sand from outside. it snowed pretty good here yesterday. it feels like swamp thing moved in and made himself at home. oh well, comes with the territory.
so a couple of recaps i guess... that cat, cody... not mine. it was my friend's. i let her stay here until she found a new apt and roommate. im not a cat person really. i love my dog too much.
iv gotten mixed reactions about my beard... well, im keeping it until the second record is done. im not going to grow it the whole time, just keep it and maintain it. no ZZ top here.
Besides, he posted a pool asking if we liked his beard. Click here to see it.
Paul gave a exclusive interview to Kiwibox website. Check what they said about BLG below and, in the end, see a audio video of the interview.
Boston-based rock quartet Boys Like Girls might just have the best fans in the world. At their shows, thousands of screaming girls can be seen lined up to get a glimpse of their favorite band, clamoring for a picture or even the coveted honor of making physical contact with a member - if only for a fraction of a second. Some of those fans even get face time with the dudes, which the band often welcomes with open arms. And who wouldn't embrace adoring fans like these? When Boys Like Girls are in Florida, they can count on the same superfans to greet them with Rice Krispie cakes touting a frosting portrait of them with the group. And sometimes, they'll get DVDs of their favorite TV shows (they're listed on their MySpace pages), a perk whether you're in a band or not.
But the band works hard to give back to the fans that love them so much, consistently touring since they released their eponymous debut album in 2006. And to give fans a little extra something, BLG, consisting of Martin Johnson on vocals/rhythm guitar, Paul DiGiovanni on lead guitar, Bryan Donahue on bass and John Keefe on drums, recently released a live DVD dubbed Read Between the Lines that chronicles their adventures on the road during their recent Soundtrack of Your Summer tour and plays host to 45 minutes of live footage from their shows. BLG isn't slowing down on the output, either. They're currently in the process of planting the seeds (aka recording the demos) for their untitled sophomore album, which they plan on tracking after they celebrate the holidays with their families, giving their fans a whole new collection of tracks to go cuckoo for when it's a wrap early next year.
And if you haven't yet been sucked in to the Boys Like Girls fandemonium, you've been missing out on a whole lot. Formed in 2005, BLG first got their kicks on Purevolume, becoming the site's Top Unsigned Artist based off the strength of their demo for "The Great Escape" and an acoustic version of "Thunder." The boys soon hit the road, only to be scooped up by Columbia who rushed them into the studio in February 2006 to record their debut album. Endless strings of tour dates opening for bands like Cute Is What We Aim For and Butch Walker followed, leading up to the release of their self-titled debut in August of the same year. Since then, Boys Like Girls has been certified gold and the band has headlined a handful of tours, bringing their tunes to millions of fans across the nation and keeping busy to provide them with as much new material as they can produce.
Before heading into the studio to record their newest album, BLG's Paul DiGiovanni hopped on the phone to talk with Senior Editor Steven about their latest DVD release and forthcoming recording plans. The band just got off of a two-week college tour, gearing up for their looming radio tour in December before heading off to Europe early next year. Discussing why the band felt it was the right time to put out Read Between the Lines, Paul also talked about whether or not the band has ever gone all "rock star" on a hotel room and trashed the joint, what television show he's currently obsessed with and why he's got so much love for fans that bring them gifts.
Martin posted two new BLG's photos in his blog, which they are with a lot of friends, celebrating the New Year. Check them out below and, to see in our Photo Gallery, just click on them.
